There will be held up four Area Workshops in the year 2009 for the ELBARN project:

1. 5-7th March in Belgium (Gent close to Brussels) for the Area North West Europe

(Invited by SLE; Countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Noway, Sweden, United Kingdom)

2. 26-28th March in Czech Republic (Roznov, 35km to Ostrave Airport) for the Central and North East Europe

(Invited by GEH; Countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland

3. 24-26th April in Italy (Legnaro close to Padova) for the Mediterranean Area

(Invited by R.A.R.E., Countris: Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain)

4. 7-10th May in Bulgaria (Blagoevgrad 90km South of Sofia) for South East Europe

(Invited by Euronatur; Countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo-UNMIK)

New list of National Contact points is now online!

One of the planned outputs of the ELBARN project is a list of people who can be contacted in an emergency, these people will be listed online, with their contact details.  As yet, the planned network of rescue centres is not operating but, we can already list people on the ELBARN website who are willing to be a contact point in their country.  The new list of National Contact points is now online National contact list

 

ELBARN Breed Descriptions online

Visit our recently edited Breed descriptions of autochthonous breeds of all over Europe. We have generated this broad set of breed descriptions with the help of our partners, partners of the SAVE-Network and external sources. You can find here an amazingly overview about the agrobiodiversity of Europe and our endangered breeds.

ELBARN Guidelines

In March 2009 we set out the ELBARN Guidelines as a result of a long term process and the Central Workshop of  Kutna Hora. We have guidelines for the themes:
-Rescue Actions and Rescue in the Case of an Outbreak of Disease
-Characterisation of Ark and Rescue Centres (A&RCs)
-Managing small populations of domestic animals
-Marketing Strategies for Ark & Rescue Centres
